Situational judgEment test (SJT)
What is an SJT?
SJTs are a measurement method designed to assess an individual’s judgement regarding situations in day to day working practice. These questions provide an effective method of assessing the key attributes required in dentistry.
The Situational Judgement Test exam is designed to assess non-academic skills and ethical values rather than clinical skills.
First introduced as part of foundation dental applications in 2013
Ranking Based SJTs: The candidate is asked to rank five possible answers from the most appropriate to the least appropriate. = maximum mark of 20 for each question.
Multiple Choice SJTs: The three most suitable options when considered together.
Each option scores 4 marks and therefore a maximum of 12 marks can be scored for each question.
